It’s All in the Technique: Specialty Adjustment Techniques

There is nothing more debilitating than losing who you are to spine and joint pain, except perhaps the realization that common methods to alleviate pain don’t always work. To complicate matters further, some ailments require very specific treatment.

A brief consultation can help determine if any sort of specialty technique is required to treat pain. Below is a list of some of the techniques Dr. Rubosky utilizes to treat pain:

Diversified Technique

The Diversified technique is the most common type of spine manipulation in chiropractic care, and for good reason. It is used by professionals for restoring proper movement, realigning the spine, and improving joint dysfunction in children and adults.

Gonstead Technique

Unlike the Diversified Technique, The Gonstead Technique uses a more in-depth look at hands-on adjustment using x-rays and other technologies to pinpoint the problem areas in the body.

Activator Technique

The Activator Technique is a softer chiropractic technique that is used on patients requiring more gentle, delicate treatment. The activator technique treats ailments by manipulating the spine and adjusting/manipulating joints without applying too much pressure on the patient.

Thompson Technique

The most hands-on of the four Chiropractic Techniques is the Thompson Technique. Also known as the “Thompson Drop”, this practice utilizes an advanced chiropractic table where portions of the patient’s body are adjusted as the table moves under specific parts of the spine, manipulating the spine and adjusting larger sections and multiple vertebrae.

These techniques, all practiced by Dr. Steven Rubosky at Rubosky Chiropractic & Wellness, can help manage spine and back pain and get you back to feeling well. Schedule a consultation today to get started.
